1926-1928
uofold Quality, the DQ, was produced as a low-priced alternative to the rather expensive Duofolds. The DQ was priced at $3.50, half the price of a Duofold. They were made in black rubber and later in plastic with a very distinctive striped finish running lenghtwise of the body.
They came in Junior and Lady size, either with a ball-clip or with a ring. The trim being gold-filled or nickel. The ladies pen had a broad ring, quite similar to the Duofold styling and the Junior had a single cap band. There are also DQ's known without cap bands. During the years 1923-1925 some rare Duofold pens also had the lines of the DQ's. These were however imprinted as Duofolds. It seems that DQ's was never made in the Senior size. Button filler. Body imprint was either Parker DQ or Parker Lucky Curve.
Top: a plastic DQ sans cap band with clip. Middle: a Duofold Lady style plastic DQ with a broad cap band and a ring top. Bottom: A black hard rubber DQ, junior style with one cap band but no clip (clip was optional at the shop).
